If you are interested in seeing our rings in person or over video chat, then our consultations are the perfect pressure-free opportunity to come in, try on samples and get your questions answered. We’ve put together this guide so that you have an idea of what to expect when you come in. Since ring shopping can be overwhelming, we break it down into baby steps to make the process easier.
First, you’ll want to make an appointment using our online booking system. We have options for in-person consultations and video consultations (using Skype or Google Hangouts). Once you book the appointment, you’ll receive directions to our showroom, as well as a link for a consultation questionnaire to fill out. This helps us make the best use of your appointment time.
We will begin by sizing your fingers, then we will look at ring widths. For that we just use a set of silver ring blanks in 2-8mm widths to get a sense of how wide of a band you are interested in.
Once we have those numbers down, we will look at styles of rings. Since the majority of our rings are customized and made to order for you, we don’t carry samples in every ring size, stone size, and metal. Instead, we have prototypes in a couple of sizes. We try to keep at least one sample of every ring style and width in stock, but occasionally may not have a sample of a particular ring. If there is one ring in particular that you really want to see, you can contact us before your appointment to make sure we have that one on hand.
For video consultations, we will put the rings on our own hands to show you what it looks like. This can be particularly helpful with engagement rings to see how tall the stone sits off the hand. Video consultations are also just a great way to talk about more customized items or get all your questions answered.
After we've looked at ring styles, we will then look at stone options (if you are looking for a ring with stones), metal options, and finishes. We will go over the differences between each of these options as they relate to cost, appearance, and durability.
As we go along, we take notes on the rings that you are interested in, and email over a quote (usually the next day). You can also take pictures on hand of the rings you are considering. These are helpful to reference while you think it over, or to show your friends/family if you want to get another opinion. Then, if you decide you’d like to order, just email us and let us know what you’d like, and we’ll send over an invoice that can be paid online with a credit card or PayPal. You are also welcome to order directly from our website if that’s easier for you.
We love getting to meet our customers face to face, so set up your consultation appointment today.
